This remarkable Port Morant (Uitvlugt) rum was distilled in 1976 in Guyana and bottled in 2008 by the renowned Italian independent bottler Moon Import, as part of the elegant “Le Fanciulle dell’800” series.
The rum originates from the historic Port Mourant wooden double pot still, one of the most iconic and distinctive stills in Demerara rum production. Though by the 1970s distillation took place at Uitvlugt Distillery, the marque retained the classic Port Morant style and character that made it one of Guyana’s most recognisable traditional rums.
This release was produced from molasses, bottled at a natural strength of 60.8% ABV, and presented in 75 cl format. It remains one of the most admired Moon Import Demerara bottlings, reflecting the Italian bottler’s refined aesthetic and focus on limited, high-quality single cask selections.
